little heartstrings bio picture
  • Welcome!

A photograph captures an important moment in time. The moment, though fleeting, can be captured forever to grace picture frames and treasured in family albums. A photograph can make the smell of a newborn baby and the way they feel nestled in your arms come rushing back to you. The sweet smile of your toddler and the twinkle in your child's eyes can be frozen in time. It is for these reasons that I decided to start studying photography.

My love of photography has grown leaps and bounds with the birth of each of my children. I love to study and explore all areas of photography, but capturing moments in the lives of children and families is very dear to me. I'm primarily a natural light photographer, who enjoys breaking out of the studio and capturing families in their element, and what better backdrop than locations throughout DFW. A native of League City, TX, I moved to Fort Worth to attend Texas Christian University and have since stayed in the Metroplex. I currently reside in Irving, TX with my husband and two young children.

    Thanks for stopping by,

There is nothing quite like the excitement of football season, especially here in Texas. I really don’t have much bias when it comes to football, unless you are playing against my beloved Horned Frogs. Today, the boys and I went to the TCU bookstore and purchased some new gear to support our Frogs on game day. The boys were very excited to try on their jerseys when they got home…ok, maybe I was more excited than they were, but I think you can tell by the pictures that I have some Horned Frogs in the making.

First Birthday Slideshow

What a smiley little man….reminds me so much of my own.  I was so excited to get to hug on this little guy between shots as we explored Colleyville. There is something so sweet and special about shooting on location.  Nothing like smashing up your first birthday cake at Grandma’s house and having the puppy lick your cake and icing covered onesie clean.  Hope you enjoyed the pictures and slideshow as much as I enjoyed putting it together.  Happy 1st Birthday Ryan!!!

A slideshow full of smiles

I had so much fun editing and designing this slideshow.  Miss Emma was full of grins and giggles for me.  Such a sweet girl….I’m terribly sad that she will be moving soon, but happy that it won’t be too far away.

Sweet big sister

I had the pleasure of photographing a sweet big sister last week.  Miss Emma is one of the sweetest sisters I know.  She reserves her smiles for those closest too her…..I’m sure glad she shared a bunch with me.  We had a great time talking about her favorite things from her stuffed monkey to Cinderella.  My favorite part of the shoot was at the beginning of the session when I asked her what a smile looks like and she told me “Ryan”, her little brother (see previous post of his first birthday session).  Hope you enjoy the sneak peek.

It’s time to party…..one year old style

I was so excited to get to take Ryan’s first birthday pictures this morning.  Ryan reminds me so much of my little guy….so full of smiles and giggles.  The whole shoot was so much fun from the cute outfits to the balloons and cake…all the planning really paid off.  Thanks for being such a good sport Ryan.  Happy Birthday!!!
